April is National Autism Awareness Month, and today, April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day. While all at the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office are concerned with the fight against Covid-19, we would still like to take the time to help raise awareness for those in the Autism community worldwide. This post is dedicated to the purpose of not only raising awareness but just as importantly, if not more so, spreading understanding, acceptance, education, respect, and kindness for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). April is also National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. The RCSO will recognize these very important topics this month in their own dedicated posts in hopes to raise awareness as well.
