On 02-06-2020 deputies with the RCSO were dispatched to the Midway area of Raleigh County to investigate a series of crimes including burglary, breaking and entering, larceny and arsons. Deputies later arrested Brian Matthew Akers, 40 years old, from the Midway area for the theft related crimes. Akers was also charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and heroin and for being a felon in possession of firearms. The arsons are still under investigation.
