On 03-06-2019 Deputy J.A. Redden and Sgt. Epling with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near Mills Ave in MacArthur. The vehicle had been previously reported stolen to Beckley Police Department and was also displaying a stolen license plate from Virginia. The vehicle was driven by Dalton Blankenship of Tazewell Virginia, Cassandra Hale of Odd WV was a passenger. After making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Dep. J.A. Redden deployed his K9 partner Cody to the vehicle. Cody indicated the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 90 doses of methamphetamine and $1286.00 in currency. The stop resulted in a search warrant being issued for 126 Mills Ave where an amount of black tar heroin and a firearm was seized from Joshua Abren.
Abren was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and also for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant through Beckley Police Department.
Blankenship was charged with felony possession of stolen property, possession with intent to deliver meth, felony conspiracy and driving revoked for DUI.
Hale was charged with possession with intent to deliver meth and felony conspiracy.
