On 11-15-2017 at approximately 4:00 PM the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Peach Tree Road in reference to a male subject following a school bus on an ATV with what appeared to be a rifle or shotgun. Deputy Parks and Lt. Price responded to the area and spoke to the bus driver and other witnesses. According to witnesses the male subject, identified as Tyler Conn, followed the bus on the ATV with a gun described as a rifle or shotgun. The bus stopped on Drews Creek Road and Conn approached the bus waving and pointing the gun at the bus and screaming. Conn was also reported to cuss at and point the gun at lady waiting to pick up her children from the bus. Fearing for the safety of the few students on the bus, the driver began to drive towards Peach Tree Road and Conn followed behind until he turned off on a side road and the bus continued on. Deputy Parks was able to locate Conn shortly afterward hiding in the attic of a house. Conn was taken into custody and charged with wanton endangerment. Conn remains in the Southern Regional jail on a $50,000 bond.
