On 11-16-2018 the Beckley Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit assisted by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, Beckley PD and WV State Police served two search warrants. The search warrants were served simultaneously due to their affiliation with an in common Detroit, MI heroin and fentanyl source.
One search warrant was served at 309 Prince Street in Beckley and resulted in the arrest of Cornellius Pope from Detroit, MI. Pope was arrested for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance being heroin and fentanyl. Marijuana, two firearms and a large amount of currency was located in the residence.
The other search warrant was served at 3659 Harper Road in Harper and resulted in the arrest of Raymond Talbott III from Columbus, OH. Talbott was arrested for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance both being heroin. Heroin, currency and a firearm was located in the residence. Both Pope and Talbott posted bond. Pope failed to appear for a preliminary hearing and is currently avoiding law enforcement. A capias has been issued for Pope’s arrest.
