On January 28 2016 Deputies responded to Covington Court regarding an armed robbery. During this robbery, several suspects entered one residence on Covington Court demanding pills. While inside, a struggle ensued between one suspect and a resident of the home. During the struggle the resident was shot in the leg. The suspect(s) then forced, at gunpoint, another resident to take them to a nearby house in search of pills. Once inside the second residence the suspects brandished firearms at the occupants of the home, which included 2 small children. The suspects then forced the homeowner of the second residence to produce their safe which the suspects left with.
As a result of the investigation, Deputies identified and charged Eddie Morgan, 35, as the individual who shot one resident. Deputies also arrested Adam Hackbarth-21, Erica Leftwich- 27, and Taleisha Neely- 21 in conjunction with this incident. Charges include Burglary, Armed Robbery, and Conspiracy. The investigation is ongoing, and more charges and arrests are possible.
