On March 11, 2019 the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Mathes for soliciting a minor via computer and for using obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor. The arrest came as a result of an investigation conducted by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit. Mathes is accused of soliciting a female child for the purposes of sexual misconduct. Mathes is being held in the Southern Regional Jail pending a $50,000 bond.
