On Sunday December 15, 2019 deputies from the RCSO responded to 463 Acord Mountain Road near Slab Fork in reference to a shooting. Once on scene it was determined that Ronnie Cochran had shot and killed his adult son Matthew Cochran. Based on the investigation Ronnie Cochran was taken into custody and charged with 1st Degree Murder and two counts of wanton endangerment.
