We are receiving complaints that scammers are calling and posing as representatives from the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office and demanding money be paid over the phone or by prepaid card as a fine for missing jury duty or for failing to appear for court. THIS IS NOT THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE OR ANY OFFICIAL PHONE CALL. If you receive such a call, please contact the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office at (304)255-9300 and do not send money to someone you do not know by prepaid card or over the phone.
