The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office is aware of multiple rumors circulating regarding a student with a weapon at the Trap Hill Middle School. There was a young man that had forgotten that he had a small pocket knife in his back pack. The knife was taken by school security without incident. There is no evidence that this student did this intentionally or with any malice in mind. School officials will be taking appropriate administrative action for this particular situation.
We would like to reiterate that there are no known credible threats at any school in Raleigh County at this time.
