The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate Deputy J.A. Redden and his K-9 partner Cody on receiving the West Virginia Police K-9 Association K-9 team of the year award. The receiving of the award came down to two teams, Dep. Redden and Sgt. R. L. Talley with his K-9 partner Smokey, also from the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.
Cody has been working with Dep. Redden for almost 8 months. In that time period Dep. Redden has deployed Cody 147 times, 116 of those times were for narcotics detection, 8 tracks and 6 suspect apprehensions. Dep. Redden and Cody have recovered 167 grams of marijuana, 95 grams of methamphetamine, 51 grams of heroin and multiple pills. In addition to the drugs 10 guns were seized and $8,700 in drug related currency.
The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office is proud of all 6 of our K-9 teams and we thank them for a job well done.
